Apparently enthused by developmental projects embarked upon within the nook and cranny of Ogun State, especially the 32km road construction along Sango-Ijoko- Ojodu- Akute in Ifo and Ado-Odo /Ota Local Government Areas, members of the State House of Assembly have lauded the State Government for heeding the call of the people in solving road problem in the areas.
Speaking today at the plenary under personal explanation, the lawmakers including Hon. Aina Akinpelu and Hon. Olakunle Oluomo representing Ado- Odo/Ota 1 and Ifo 1, State constituencies respectively said that prior to the commencement of the road construction, the people living within the areas had been facing harrowing and hectic experience until the senator Ibikunle Amosun’s administration intervened to ease the daily suffering of the people.
The lawmakers who spoke after resuming from a five-week recess, explained that with the commencement of the work on the expressway, the hardship confronting the commuters would be reduced considerably, while expressing gratitude to the governor on behalf of the people and requested for more of such developmental projects.
In his Remark, The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi, while acknowledging the efforts of the governor at turning around the socio-economic life of the people, also applauded the on-going Ogun Standard road projects in Isokan /Ayetoro constituencies, saying that the State government was committed to proving more democratic dividend to the people. Meanwhile, worried by the extent of havoc done by rainstorm in some communities in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of the State, the Lawmaker representing the area in the House of Assembly, Hon. Harrison Adeyemi, has made a passionate appeal to the State Government to assist the victims. Speaking under personal explanation, Hon. Harrison sought for immediate assistance through the relevant government agencies especially in providing relief materials to the people. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adekunbi commiserated with the affected people and called on the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to quickly intervene. The assemblymen also paid glowing tribute to the late former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusesan Soluade who died at the age of 80 years, describing him as one of the founding fathers of the State whose wealth of experience would be greatly missed.
